Where were we?
I was going to get a friend to help me put this door up but we had a day of rain everywhere except on my house and it was cool so I started. I did a lot of measuring and found a couple of bricks about the right size to set this thing on in front of the entry door. I used shims, one was a leather tool holder and also a bit of folded cardboard to get it level and in place. I marked where the screws needed to go and got out the drill.
Now the door came with security screws. You've seen them. They go in with a flat head driver but are impossible to get out except with a special tool. This means you only get one shot to get it right. Not a good thing for me as I am cursed with the famous "NOTHING EVER WORKS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME" gene. And as careful as I was, things didn't work out perfect.
To make much sweat dry, I got the door hung level but left a lot of tool marks which will need to be touched up. Now I had to mount a bar on the side of the house where the locks will strike and install the lock set in the door. I hoped the nest day would be cool and called it quits.
