To wrap up the account of this road trip, we spent our night at the Phonex Inn in Beatty. We got this room through a travel agent who I will not recommend. This place is "quaint" or dump depending on your view. The heat and hot water worked, and the single tiny bar of soap lasted two days, but we ran out of TP on the second day and had to use tissue. It's Beatty after all, a place with little to offer but some dumpy casinos and bad food. There is a running swap meet along the highway where some people are trying to make money selling junk. That's all fokes.
So we drove back to the Valley the next day up to Scottys castle where we missed the tour we wanted to take and not wanting to wait 4 hour's we drove back down the valley to Stove Pipe Wells. This is a Fred Harvey place with over priced restaurant, motel, and gift shop. The most fun here was people watching. Lots of CA foke with there dirt bikes and 4 wheelers.
After a while we headed back to Beatty, taking pictures along the way, to eat bad food, and relax.
Come morning we headed back stopping in Indian Springs to eat. Indian Springs has a casino, an airforce base, and a prison. That's all.
It was an enjoyable getaway mostly, but Gizmo was happy to be home and so were we.
