Leaving Las Vegas

Sometimes Ya got to cut out for a while so we took a drive down to Yuma Arizona. Cotton seems to be the cash crop here but it may take second place to pure growth as Yuma is the third fastest in the USA. I wonder why? There is not really a lot of things to do around yuma. Maybe it's the climate which is perty darn hot in summer but very mild otherwise, and there's a couple of casinos near by, but Algodones may be part of the answer.
The border town of Algodones must have the highest density of dentists and optometrists in the world. Tooth and Eye care at half price draws a lot of seniors and that doesn't even mention the pharmacies. One outfit has 5 shops and if you stand in the right spot you can see them all. Drugs are big business in Algodonus. People flock here for meds. No scrips necessary. Ask and receive.
Now you can't get strong pain meds but if you need heart stuff or anything not on the narc list, Algodones has it at big discount. If you have no med insurance and Mexico is near, you are going to be coming here. (or another border town) But Algodones is clean and safe.
We had a good time here. We bought some drugs for friends and ourselves, had some good food, picked up some presents for Christmas and relaxed. Gizmo was a good dog except for puking in the car on the way down (on the way back I took it slow over the dips.
By the way, taking your pet into Mexico can be a serious issue and you need to be sure you can return with your pet. Algodnoes is a special place with a lot of day traffic and they are pet friendly. We talked to the border people and they told us they didn't want people leaving pets in cars so they could cross the border. I was impressed with that. But beware, other border towns may have different rules so be sure to have current med records and tags for your pets if your going to take them to Mexico.
