Anyway, to finish the story, The car did not get delivered to me. Like I was really expecting that, but we picked it up at Kirk's office(?) which was not too far away, and signed off. We got the smog, and the sale slip for registration, and (one)? Key.
Now when you buy a car this way it is "At is" with no warranty. This doesn't bother me as the numbers were good and the condition was very good, but the unforeseen can bite you.
We called our insurance and put it on and dropped the Pup but then the CU called and hadn't got the binder. Gloria took the call and just gave them the insurance company's # and said "you call them and get it right". Sometimes a bitch is a blessing.
So the car runs, looks, great. I haven't registered it yet. I have 30 days to do it and I will not write about what a bummer it will be cause you will surely Know. It's everywhere the same.
One key. Initially I was not concerned as you can get a key cut anywhere. No! Not always. My explorer has a security key with a chip that must be programmed or no startie. So when I went to get some extra keys cut I found out that the dealer must be involved$ This truck has an alarm system needing those little key pad things, but it need not be used. I have found that nobody pays any attension to the noise they make, and it may be convenite to lock and unlock remotely but you can always stick the key in the door as I have been doing for 19 years.
I don't care about the alarm system but I still need extra keys. The dealer will cut the keys which cost 28$ but will charge an hour labor at 85$ to program them. I have no choice. The system has got me by the ---- and I take the car to the dealer. It will cost 155$ for two keys.
I go to pick up after a few hours. The bill is 122.00.Dud They bring the car around and there is one extra key? I see my service rep and he does me right. It takes a while but he gets another key cut and program's it and sends me on my way. No extra charge. I'm happy for the freebe?
Well what can you say. Every day you get money sucked away for this and that. It is just what you have to put up with in this day and age.
I guess cars are a necessary evil. I needed one, and I got one that I can live with and pay for so ALL's Well that End's Swell.
