We are in Amarillo Texas at a comfort inn. In our travels we have been happy
with the accomadations at these joints. If you check touist info stops on
the interstate you can find some coupon books with serious discounts.
This morning we messed around Ft Smith AK,where we stayed last night, and
toured a bordello, Miss Laura's social club, from the mid 1800's. There's a
lot of neat history from that time. Judge Parker, the hanging judge, strung
up 79 men, and Bell Star raised hell. In fact bell's mother,Pearl was a girl
at Laura's, but there is too much to remember. Anyway it was fun to look
around.
We blasted off across OK. and TX. listening to a Bigband CD I got at the
watertown jazz festival.
We heard some really good music there.
Tomorrow we head for Gallup, another long drive, and pick up the Kia. Hope
it is fixed. Then head for home on Wednsday.
