Hell is having to buy a car.

I bought a Isuzu Pup, a small pickup, in 1986 and have driven it ever since. This should tell you that I am not a big car person. Point A to point B every time is my major need. This little truck has been my trusted ride for quite a while. Some parts have needed replacement but I'm still on the original clutch, and there no dents on the drivers side.
It cost about 7000$ and about 1000$ in parts and repairs. 130000 miles. Not counting gas it comes to 6 cents a mile. I've had it easy. If I had been leasing a big SUV for 400 a month driving 12k a year it would be 2.50 a mile.
Oh! Insurance is extra. It costs a lot to drive, but there is really no choice.
Anyway the PUP has bourn the ravishes of time and must be put down. The AC stopped working years ago. The heater gave up and started dripping brown stuff in the cab. The brakes stop fine but the front shudders and I fear something will fall off soon. Now it has suddenly taken to stalling instead of idling and after trying to fix it, I realize that the car is worn out. And it is a shame cause getting in it and driving away is like pulling on a old comfortable pair of jeans. Such a familiar fit. But when the holes get too big you got to toss them.
I hate buying a car worse than moving furniture or moping floors.
Next post- trying to buy a car the easy way.
